Continuing in this tradition, the new X-Bolt 2 Speed SPR is designed for the active hunter, equally adept in pursuit of Nebraska whitetails or Colorado elk. It retains key features such as the fluted sporter contour barrel, ensuring the rifle remains lightweight, maneuverable and easy to carry. The Speed SPR inherits the high-performance attributes of its predecessor and is optimized for use with an optional suppressor. The shortened fluted sporter contour barrel maintains optimal Rifle-Length when using a suppressor, with a belled muzzle to accommodate 5/8-24 Suppressor-ready threading. Included are a radial muzzle brake and thread protector cap, with the option to add a Browning Recoil Hawg Sporter muzzle brake for enhanced recoil reduction. The action is bedded and the barrel is free-floated to ensure consistent accuracy. For added durability, the redesigned action and barrel feature a cerakote Smoked Bronze finish, surpassing traditional metal protections. The DLX trigger, preset from the factory at 3.5 lb with adjustable settings down to 3.0 lb, offers zero creep, zero take-up and zero overtravel for precise shooting. The lightweight Vari-Tech composite stock provides three-way adjustment, Browning OVIX concealment for effective camouflaging across various terrains and a thicker Inflex recoil pad for comfort during extended shooting sessions. The Vari-Tech stock’s configurability rivals many chassis-style stocks, enabling adjustments to comb height for optimal eye-to-optic alignment, internal spacers for rattle-free length-of-pull adjustment and interchangeable grip modules between sporter and vertical styles. Rubber over molding on gripping surfaces enhances handling security in any condition. In hunting, split-second timing can mean success or failure.
